BDS (University of Birmingham, 2010) GDC No 192122 After qualifying I moved to Ipswich to complete a postgraduate training year and fell in love with Suffolk. Since then, I have had a varied career, providing both private and NHS dental services, primarily in East Suffolk. I spent several years with the Community Dental Service working with anxious and additional needs patients, in schools, prisons and dental clinics. Through this work I undertook a clinical fellowship in Minor Oral Surgery with Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge and used these surgical skills when providing inhalation and intravenous sedation, ultimately managing the sedation service for CDS East Suffolk.
I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry, including restoring
implants, and pride myself on treating patients holistically. I
feel it is important to work with patients to meet their
individual needs and create a bespoke management plan, whether
this is simple or more complex. Outside of the dental surgery, I
work with the General Dental Council, on their Fitness to
Practice Committee, ensuring dental professionals they have the
appropriate skills, knowledge, character and health to practise
their profession safely and effectively.
Besides dentistry, I have three young children. Most days I try
to carve out some quiet time to practice yoga and read. I also
enjoy playing the violin, and when I get the chance, I play with
Trianon Music Group; a semi-professional symphony orchestra and
choir. In any other spare time I can muster, I also enjoy
dancing, travelling and photography.
